Magic Hat – Heart of Darkness – Stout
Appearance: Black, thick creamy caramel colored head that slowly dissipates little lacing.
Aroma: Chocolate, coffee and roasted malt.
Taste: Big roasted malt, coffee and some earth hops (adds some bitter to the coffee flavor), hints of caramel and chocolate.
Mouthfeel: Viscous consistency, tingly carbonation, full body and a lasting finish that isn’t sure if it is wet or dry.
It is rare that I find a stout that gives me the giddies. I am such a die hard Guinness fan that I am often left sour by the competition. I enjoy this for is differences and similarities and big differences. But roasted coffee makes its statement here. -90/100-
