Appearance: Dark hazy amber, thick creamy head with thick lace rings.

Aroma: Clove, citrus, vinegar and grains.

Taste: Grains, metallic, floral yeast and a hint of pine and citrus finish.

Mouthfeel: Smooth consistency, delicate carbonation, medium body with a quick dry finish.

Intense hops for an Oktoberfest, unfortunately it seems to be missing the mark if it is going for that traditional flavor. Crisp and refreshing but missing some oomph.

Appearance: Clear orange, a thin creamy head with little to no lacing.

Aroma: Spicy bread & grains, sweet horse oats and fruits with a touch of lemon rinds.

Taste: Sweet malty domination, citrus fruits, floral yeast with a touch of bitter.

Mouthfeel: Velvety consistency, tingly carbonation, medium body with a quick dry finish.

Nice and rounded with a big punch of sweet.

Appearance: Cloudy tangerine, thick creamy foamy head with a thick wall of lace.

Aroma: Sweet orange, citrus rind, melon, pine with grass and hay.

Taste: Touch of sweet grains, orange, grapefruit and timothy hay.

Mouthfeel: crisp consistency, fizzy carbonation, medium/light body with a quick dry finish.

Tasting partner quote – “Crazy Ass Refreshing!” Light and crisp with standout freshness and a mild palate cleansing ability. Unfortunately the HUGE features from the nose don’t carry over to the flavor in intensity.

Appearance: Clear red mahogany, fizzy receding head with no lacing.

Aroma: Alcohol, caramel and molasses.

Taste: Alcohol, sweet dark fruits and bready notes.

Mouthfeel: Smooth consistency, delicate carbonation, medium body with a quick wet finish.

Big alcohol stands out with milder sweet bready notes bringing in the only real complexity. Overall simple flavor dominated by too much booze.

Ommegang The Iron ThroneOmmegang – Iron Throne

Appearance: Hazy gold, foamy head with webbed lacing.

Aroma: Citrus, grass, biscuity with big floral yeast.

Taste: Sweet grains, citrus peel, hay, pepper, mild fruit notes with a slight bitter finish.

Mouthfeel: Crisp consistency, champagne like carbonation, medium body with a quick dry finish.

The added yeast gives a cork popping burst of carbonation and increased aroma. Refreshing and light this brew is the perfect draught to enjoy after dominating the Iron Throne!
